Biography
Prof. Christopher Chao is a Chair Professor and Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a first class honors in Mechanical Engineering in 1988. He obtained his Master's and Doctoral degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, majoring in Thermosciences in 1992 and 1994 respectively. Prof. Chao has over 25 years of research and project coordination experience in numerous areas of energy and environmental engineering. He studies contaminant transport caused by air flow and has also looked into aircraft cabin environmental issues, etc. Prof. Chao is Fellow of Five professional societies including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, etc. and has published more than 120+ journal articles and book chapters, patents, etc.
