Biography
Mauro Chinappi is an Assistant Professor in Fluid Dynamics at University of Rome Tor Vergata. In the early stage of his carrier, he worked on wetting and slippage at nanoscale employing particle based computational tools, such as atomistic simulations. In the same period, he also started to approach biophysical problems, focusing on polymer transport through nanopores and nanoslits. The interest for biology brought him to move first to the Department of Biochemical Science (Sapienza), joining the Biocomputing group of Prof. Anna Tramontano, and, then, to the Center for Line Nano Science (Italian Institute of Technology) where he worked on the design of micro and nanofluidics devices for biomedical analysis and drug delivery. Since 2016, he has a new appointment a University of Rome Tor Vergata where his research is focused on two main lines: i) the employment of nanofluidics system for biosensing and ii) the dynamics of microswimmers in confined geometries.
