Biography
Professor Tamura is working for Chongqing University, China, and concurrently serving as Honorary Director of the Wind Engineering Research Center of Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan. He has received awards/prizes including the 2004 ASCE Jack E. Cermak Medal, the 2016 ASCE Robert H. Scanlan Medal and the 2016 IAWE Alan G. Davenport Medal for his research activities, and the 2015 JAWE Design Award for his contribution to wind resistant design of the 634m-high Tokyo Sky Tree. He is currently a member of the Engineering Academy of Japan (EAJ). He is also a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as President of the International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE) for eight years from 2007.
